IBM® Systems Director is a platform management solution that streamlines the way physicaland virtual systems are managed across a multi-system environment. IBM Systems Director leverages industry standards to support multiple operating systems and virtualization technologies across IBM and non-IBM platforms, including Power Systems™ servers. IBM Systems Director focuses on managing the hardware, operating systems and virtualized resources on Power Systems and includes tasks such as monitoring with event actions, virtual server (logical partition) creation and modification, monitoring and updating of firmware, HMC, VIOS, AIX and IBM Systems Director code, initiation of Live Partition Mobility, AIX operating system deployment with VMControl Standard Edition and Energy Management with Active Energy Manager, plus a whole lot more. This session will provide an overview of IBM Systems Director for the Power Systems customer, including additional details important to Power Systems.
