Topic: POWER7 Processor Performance

Processor accounting, 4-way Simultaneous Multi-threading and Active Energy Management have changed how CPU utilization is reported in the new POWER7 Architecture. This session discusses these technologies, how they work, compares to earlier POWER5 and POWER6 architectures, and provides examples of updates to various performance tools. Additionally, discussion of recent POWER7 benchmarks, field experience and defects/fixes will be covered. This presentation is intended for intermediate/advanced users.
